As an engineer, I have been trained throughout my career that in order to properly identify the root cause of a problem, one must first understand the physics that underlie the issue.  This approach, coupled with my natural curiosity, radical passion for justice, and strong aversion to consensus-based thought, has led me on a quest to better understand why some nations prosper while others fail and why some humans exhibit vibrant health while others succumb to chronic disease.  The templates I have used to inform my opinions on these topics include the Austrian school of economics, Libertarian political philosophy, and evolution through natural selection.

My goal is to share these perspectives in the hope that the preventable diseases that cripple both the body and the body politic are avoided.

The name of the blog comes from the quote, usually attributed to Benjamin Franklin, but whose real origin is in doubt, “Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote.”
